About Dream & Scheme

Dream & Scheme was launched as a container for vocational discernment practice, process facilitation, and programs meant to serve people in all life-stages. We seek to create space for folks who are curious, wondering, aching, struggling to find and follow their sense of call in the midst of climate chaos, late stage capitalism, and cultures of domination that seem inescapable.

However you name the sacred in the world, we believe that sacredness is calling you into what is better. Whether it’s God, big love, or something else, we believe that the divine in the world gives us all gifts and purposes — and that we can uncover that sense of purpose (and keep uncovering it, as we live our lives), if we train ourselves to listen. We believe that we can honor ourselves and the next yes we’re called to, and that we must navigate with critical consciousness the web of white supremacy, heteropatriarchy, and extractive capitalism we live in to do things like pay our bills and buy groceries. We believe in community care and interdependence as ways out of what seems inevitable, and that even as we discern vocation we can work for the liberation of all.

Alison Wood (they/she), Coordinator - Alison is a facilitator, schemer, and educator rooted in the U.S./Mexico borderlands on unceded Tohono O’odham land colonially called Tucson, Arizona. Outside of Dream & Scheme, they work occasionally as a graduate faculty associate at the Arizona State University School of Social Work. Vocationally, Alison is engaged in education and accompaniment work that unsettles assumptions while holding space for rest and play. Alison built their vocational discernment passion and skills over ten years of work with young adults in year long service corps, elders in mainline Protestant churches, and people of all ages surviving burnout in non-profit agencies. Alison maintains her resilience with haphazard arts and crafts, walks in the desert, and group viewings of trashy television.

Luke Rembold (he/him), Co-Facilitator - Luke Rembold is an educator, youth leader, and advocate for the leadership of young people in our churches and communities. A child of two educators, Luke is passionate about the intersection of education and faith, and fervently believes education has the power to transform our communities and the world. He currently serves as the youth and young adult ministry coordinator for the Presbytery of Santa Fe, coordinating the ABQ site of the Young Adult Volunteer program while building connection and community with the youth of the thirty-eight churches of the presbytery. Luke enjoys time outdoors, whether teaching tennis, cycling, or exploring New Mexico's beautiful landscapes.

Our commitment to redistributing resources:

Dream & Scheme is incorporated on the unceded homelands of the Tohono O’odham and Pascua Yaqui peoples. Our two primary facilitators are white-bodied people who benefit from generational wealth. As a small act of repair, and to recognize how we benefit from the dominant culture, 10% of every contract with Dream & Scheme will be donated to a local justice organization led by global majority community members.
