Dream & Scheme supports vocational discernment in community. As you explore these formats below, consider what sort of collaboration would work best for you or your group! All collaborations begin with a free 30 min conversation to share information about what you’re looking for and brainstorm possibilities, as well as giving us both time to see if we’re a good fit to work together.

As experienced facilitators and strategic thinkers, we are also happy to support your group or organization through meeting facilitation and organizational process work. More on that below!

All services are available for a sliding scale fee - reach out to see how we can make this support accessible for you!

Small Group Series

Working with a small group of folks, and want to explore discernment together? This could be a great option for you! These collaborations most often consist of 3-5 sessions, each 75-90 minutes long, incorporating group centering practices, individual discernment work paired with collective reflection, and community discernment practices. All of this can be adapted to support what your group needs. Gather a group of friends to work together, invite us to work with your year-long volunteer service cohort, host a small group series at your church… we’re adaptable and excited to meet you and your community where you are to support your exploration. This series is available via Zoom or in-person in Tucson.

Standalone Workshops

Suitable for groups of a variety of sizes, these workshops can kindle deeper reflection, connection, and imagination within your group. Workshops can be adapted for different settings, and all include participatory elements to keep folks engaged.

  • “The Kingdom of God is like…”: Having a vision of a better future matters. When our imagination feels limited by how our bodies feel or what we notice about the state of the world, returning to this vision helps us return to hope. Using the images of God’s kingdom described in Scripture as a starting point, this interactive workshop invites participants to engage creativity, imagination, and art reflection as a way of envisioning the world we’re called to create together. Interactive art workshop, 45-60min.

  • "What's the deal with Sabbath?": We know that Jesus rested, and that remembering the Sabbath is one of the ten commandments. But rest isn't just about recovery, or preparing to do more work--it is an act of rebellion, rooting ourselves in our belief that God loves us wholly as we are, and not as a result of what we accomplish or produce. This workshop will invite us to recognize messages we receive about rest and explore ways to disrupt the idea that who we are is solely rooted in what we do. Interactive workshop, 45-60min.

  • Everything is Vocational Discernment: Not "What do I do with my life?" but "What is next for me on this journey of faith?" Daring to be curious about the next “yes” God is speaking into your life can be a transformative thing. This workshop offers a framework for vocational discernment that holds spaciousness for how our senses of call can shift over time, and a chance to try out a discernment practice in this framework. Reflection & discernment practice, 60-90 min.

These workshops have been developed in collaboration with the Albuquerque Young Adult Volunteer program.

Meeting Facilitation and Organizational Process Support

Excellent meeting facilitation can make all the difference in the effectiveness, inclusion, and efficiency of a meeting. Outside of vocational discernment, we are passionate and skilled in guiding meetings that invite in and honor every participant’s voice and get to the goals of the meeting within the allotted time.

Noticing that your meetings feel like they’re going nowhere - or going everywhere - regardless of your agenda? Just want a little extra support in holding the container for your group’s conversation? Want to invite in an outside facilitator so that all members of your group can participate fully in the meeting’s conversation? We look forward to working with you!

Entering a longer process as an organization? Projects like visioning, systems change, and strategic development likely call for multiple meetings to work through thoroughly. We can work with you to plan, prepare for,  and hold space for meaningful dialogue around what your organization needs to accomplish. From finalizing an agenda to defining the flow of a long term process to planning activities that will engage your group’s members, we are excited to collaborate creatively with you. Reach out to talk about how we can support both individual meetings and your systemic process over time!
